Newbridge gets some NEW art.
------------------------------------------
For the month of October Blue and her husband potter Alex Allpress will be
opening their studio from 14th Oct - 30th Oct for exhibitions, talks, walks and great workshops!
We have been here since 2008 and we really hope that people will come and support us this October.
It has never been more vital to support your rural creative businesses; it has been a tough year for everyone, but what would a county be without the exciting entertainment and activities of it's creative artist and makers.
Our studio on Main Street next to the Golden Lion Pub in Newbridge on Wye, LD1 6LN on the A470. We will
be featuring some fantastic writer's talks: 16th October award winning author Lorraine Jenkin giving her thoughts on writing, families and rural life and on the 23rd October Chris Kinsey will be talking about her new poems and other writings.
This is a great chance to have a personal in depth experience at an intimate fascinating venue full of inspiring art, sculptural and ceramics.
But this is not all: we are running workshops for all ages and skills throughout the time we are open:

Sat 22nd Oct: Fun Day: Pirate Pictures make an adventure inspired by pirates of the Wye £3/4
Sun 23rd Oct: Stencil Fun Design your own flag and add it to our MOCA Cymru garden bunting/take it home £3/4
Mon 24th Oct: Family Fun Day : Mask making 2-4pm £4
Tues 25th Oct: Family Fun day : Family Walk, dogs pushchair friendly: games, crafts, art, 2-4pm.
Wed 26th Oct: Map making / Adventure Comic Strips: let your imagination go wild. 2-4pm £3/4
27th Thurs Oct: Pop Art Portraits with collage paints and stencils 2-4pm ages 12-21 yrs £4
28th Friday Special: Graffiti Portraits inspired by the views around the village and favourite walks £4
30th Special Closing Day Walk Celebration: 2-3pm Round the village, games, crafts and fun £2/3 donation

Also Blue MacAskill was awarded a Powys Arts Month Xtra award to produce films by and inspired from the community of Newbridge on Wye: In september the school had creative writing workshops and then filmed their ideas on location in the village: please come and support our project and see the films while you are at the studio.
