"where the inspiration of nature meets the creativity in the art of clay"

"I endeavour turn the delicate balance of nature into simple intriguing one off artworks"

new work 2013

Since moving to Powys, with the Valleys and Mountains; Living at the foot of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains and next to the Elan Valley and the Wye; It has had a huge effect on my work with all the different landscapes to take in. I made work about the huge skies above the Fens, and the wide open spaces; now I am surrounded by difficult tough terrain, that is so different for me.

Now I have opened my studio here I want to make a difference to the communities around me, and hope that my work ays something about where I live, for visitors to take away and people to enjoy the cultural observations and inspiration taken to make my work.

I look forward to my artworks ranging in scale and scope for taking in the variety of surrounding beauty; I hope that my work acts as a celebration of beauty when it sits in peoples living rooms.

My range of work together fulfill my active work life in the studio and I see all the ceramics as inspired peices whether they are used everyday in the kitch; or on a coffee table to be admired. I want to make work people are proud to have in their homes, offices and gardens and to give as presents. At every level of the process I work by hand to finish each piece for exhibition/sale myself. From getting clay ready to making glazes to the kiln and hand painting; I feel it is important that I see all my pieces through from beginning to end.
